INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT
[00:08] Jen:
My love, welcome to Loving Business Forward. I am so delighted to have you here. Thank you so much for joining this conversation.
Q’orianka:
My pleasure Jen. I'm so happy to be here with all of you, and I want to tell you that I was pretty blown away by meeting you. You're such a light. You have this beautiful energy. I am so grateful for you and for your contribution to our community so I couldn't be happier than being here with you.
Jen:
Thank you, love, and I feel absolutely the same way about you, so umm… it is very much reciprocated so thank you so much. So we are going to be discussing our beautiful Mother Earth today, and your sacred wisdom, and I know you're drawing also wisdom from your ancestors and from the spirits.
ABOUT MY SPIRITUAL AWAKENING, AND LIFE PURPOSE:
[01:05] Jen:
So I wonder if we could just before we get into all of that, would you mind just bringing everyone up to speed as far as the work that you're doing in the world and really what you're doing in your business? What's brought you to this moment?
[01:22] Q’orianka:
Yes, well, in a nutshell, I am an Inca Priestess from the beautiful Incan tradition of the Andes of Peru and my job is my soul's purpose, is helping awakening women heal and transform their lives through love services that I offer and one of them is the Ceremonial Immersion and Spiritual Mentoring in Cusco, Peru that I lead together with my team and I also offer distant services of mentorship, so this is the love of my life and this is not what I used to do. I have a before and after kind of life. I have two chapters in my life.
And so my previous life, who I used to be, is someone who her life was all about being very much about what was logical, what was following the preconceived conditions of society when it comes to success and doing well in life, so I wanted to follow all of those to ensure that I would do well in life and everything failed so miserably. I was so unhappy. Yeah.
So at the end of my 20s, I found myself having to get divorced, which I never would have wanted to do. I had this beautiful idea growing up that if one day I was gonna get married that it was gonna be it. I was gonna live happily ever after, so coming to the realization that I needed to let the marriage go was the toughest thing I had to do in my life and later on I also let go of my career in nursing because again, you know, I had made a decision based on what I thought it was for me and what would make me happy but really in practice when I was out there doing my job it was really tough to realize that that wasn't also my life purpose, that I wasn't wired to be a nurse and that was quite sad and quite difficult too to realize and to come to terms with.
Before that happened, I had a lot of self-doubts. I thought it was my fault; there was something wrong with me. There were many, many things that were triggered by that experience but at the same time as painful as those experiences were -- they brought me to a state of depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, skin conditions, and my immune system was starting to not work so well, so I ended up with gluten intolerance -- but all of these things, all of that pain was part of my spiritual awakening, and so my spiritual awakening brought me to be who I am today, once I went through this moment of transformation that was marked by an encounter with eagles in Northern B.C. in Canada.
I looked into the eyes of this beautiful eagle and there was a transmission but I didn't know what was happening at the moment. It was just something unusual and powerful. Something that I could not put my finger on it was happening, but I knew that it was special, and two weeks after that happened, after that encounter with the eagles, I started to find some teachers and guides without even knowing I needed help.
I was drowning in my own sadness and my depression, but I thought I had to just toughen up and deal with that by myself, but Divine Spirit had sent me the eagles, the messengers of the Divine, and later on, I was able to receive support but these people, my teachers, told me “you need to go back to your own country. You need to go back to Peru to heal with the powerful energy of your grandparents [ancestors],” and I followed the advice, and I came back. And as I was healing my own life in ancestral ceremonies of the Inca lineage, of the amazon as well, I discovered who I was, and I discovered my calling as an Inca Priestess and a healer.
[05:54] Jen:
Such a powerful and beautiful story, and I especially love the part with the transmission of the… I'm sorry, was it you said, it was an eagle. I'm sorry, an eagle. It was that kind of bird, was it? Yeah, oh my god, I love that so much and you even too that the two eagles that you saw, the second one you said is now your husband.
HOW ONE IS CALLED TO THE INCAN SPIRITUAL PATH OF SERVICE:
[06:20] Q’orianka:
Yes, well, this is something again I didn't know at that moment but years later as I was already on the path of the Inca Priestess, I was receiving the training and receiving also spiritual initiations to be able to do this beautiful healing work and I learned that one is called to the spiritual path as a healer in this tradition. That it's not like it's born in you. It's not you saying, “I'm gonna do this with my life. I want to be a healer. I'm gonna do this.”
It's really the desire in your heart a response to an invitation of the grandparents [ancestors], so Pachamama and the Spirits of the Mountains call the people to serve and it's up to us to say Yes or No. So my response was Yes. But how they call the people to serve in this path is: They show themselves to you. They call it a ‘star’ and it can be a dream where you see in some way the Spirit Guides talking to you, communicating with you, and inviting you to the path, or it can be an encounter that is very unusual with some animal in the countryside.
THE UNIQUE WAY IN WHICH, PETER, MY HUSBAND WAS CALLED TO THE INCAN SPIRITUAL PATH:
[07:36] Q’orianka:
So for me, it was the visit of the two eagles, but I never knew… It was always something that made me scratch my head, “why did two eagles come to visit me?” “I had direct communication with this one eagle, but what about the other one? Why two?”
I always found it unusual and later I realized “oh, of course! that's because my husband, my soul mate husband, he also followed the spiritual path with me and we are both Inca Priest and Priestess, doing our work together in a sacred way as a couple” and so my husband never had that occasion of having an encounter with any animal or having that ‘star’ come to him in a dream, so I realized “oh, of course! I came in touch with two eagles, so one of them was for my husband.” That was his calling, and it came through me.
[08:31] Jen:
I love that so much! Thank you for sharing that.
ON OUR CONNECTEDNESS WITH MOTHER EARTH:
[08:34] Jen:
So, let's get into this topic of our planet, right? And the connectedness with Mother Earth and spirits and nature so what do we need to know about this relationship with Mother Earth and nature. I think that as humans, we feel like we are separate from nature, but we actually are a part of nature, we are nature, and so I wonder if you could talk to us about this connection, this relationship to our planet and the land.
[09:19] Q’orianka:
Yes, well, Jen, I feel that it's very important to talk about this topic. A lot of us, most of the audience probably, are people who live in the city. That's very common. There are so many people living in the city nowadays and our relationship to Mother Earth sometimes we think it's really good.
If somebody had asked me before I followed the spiritual path, if I was close to Mother Earth or if I love Mother Earth, I would have said “Of course, I do. Of course, I do, you know, I love Mother Earth,” and yet, if we look at deeper interconnection or relationship with Mother Earth, actually, the most common thing is that our relationship is way too on the surface level, and we don't realize that we're just at the surface because that's all we know. We don't know more than that. We don't have a point of reference. So, if anything, I'd love for my experience in connection to Mother Earth and the Spirit Guides of Nature… My desire is for me to serve as a bridge so that you can get to kind of have a glimpse of something even deeper.
The way I know Mother Nature through ceremonial work and through serving beautiful women here when they come to the retreats, is that Mother Earth is an amazing Living Energy and the Spirits of the Mountains are powerful allies and protectors, and the Spirits of Nature, the Spirits of the Plants are absolutely wise in a way that you might not even be able to comprehend unless that you have direct dialogue with them and you are able to receive their healing and their love. It's really so powerful, I mean, that their intelligence goes beyond the way that they function as an ecosystem among, for instance, among plants and animals. What you watch on the Discovery Channel, right? Like, how they communicate and interact.
ON THE PROFOUND HEALING MEDICINE OF THE PLANTS:
[11:32] Q’orianka:
It's quite amazing that even though we're different species, their energy is so healing to us and, for instance, in plant medicine ceremony of the kind that we do here with grandmother Ayahuasca, the Spirits of the Plants will commune with you. You're gonna commune with them, and they're gonna kind of search deep into your whole being and see what's going on. What are those hidden pains that you're carrying on your body? What is making your soul cry, why are you blocked somehow and you're not able to receive the happiness that you so much want? What is going on there? And they are able to help you release those heavy patterns. They're able to heal and help you get rid of heavy energies that you're carrying actually in your cells, and so that is to me quite miraculous.
HOW PACHAMAMA HELPS YOU RELEASE HEAVY ENERGY IN INCAN CEREMONY:
[12:35] Q’orianka:
That the spirits of nature can do that, that they can interact with humans in such a deep way; when we are wanting to come in touch with them in this way now with Pachamama, Mother Earth, again; the way in which Pachamama will support you and love you. She really can take away so much stuff that you couldn't release yourself by yourself.
So what Pachamama does is, when we sit in a sacred ceremony, for instance, in nature with intention - this is spiritual-energetic work - we are putting all of the things that you want to let go of in items of nature in a ceremony, in a parcel, and then I take care of taking it back to Mother Earth with prayers. And Mother Earth will take that heavy energy and guess what. Do you know what happens with that heavy energy? It’s transformed into renewing life energy, so Mother Earth will transmute that energy to create new life. Nothing goes to waste, and whatever isn’t good for you, it ends up being really good for the cycle of nature. So it ends up being good energy for others. Well, to me that is really quite amazing and I pinch myself all the time when I think about things like this.
This is what I get to see and what I basically get to almost touch. I'm so close to that and I always wish for people that they could understand that our connection with nature can be so much deeper than going on a beautiful vacation to the beach or going camping and I mean I'm not saying those things are bad and I really find that there is a lot of value in being able to walk barefoot in nature or climb, some do some climbing or some visits to nature but there is so much more and so I’d like to invite you to keep exploring connecting more deeply with Mother Earth.
THE GRANDPARENTS:
[14:56] Q’orianka:
So I remember I was talking to you, Jen, before about how I see Pachamama and my personal relationship with the Spirits of Nature. Remember? We were talking about that. So I have grown to love the Spirits of Nature so much that to me they're my grandparents, so that's not a way of talking, it's not just a beautiful way to put it. It's the reality of how I feel in my heart, and when I pray, that's how I pray to them. I'm talking to my wise grandparents, to the ones who are there for me, the ones who love me and support me and teach me stuff, the ones that pass on their wisdom and the ones I work with so that we can do great work together and the ones I always can count on.
[15:51] Jen:
Yeah, so beautiful. I'm just like on the edge of my seat. I'm like, yes!
A SIMPLE WAY TO INITIATE OR DEEPEN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH NATURE:
[15:57] Jen:
Oh my gosh, yes, so I wonder if you could help us. For maybe somebody who's listening or watching and maybe they don't necessarily or rather maybe they haven't had an opportunity up to this point to really feel that connection or feel like they have a relationship.
Like “Oh, yeah, cool. I can watch, like you mentioned, on the Discovery Channel, like, I like animals, I like nature.” What would you suggest? As you mentioned that you're this bridge right, this love bridge. How would somebody really kind of initiate a more deeper relationship outside of, maybe Ayahuasca, actually taking in the plant medicine but on a daily basis something that's really simple, something where can we start from there?
[16:55] Q’orianka:
Yes, I believe in being very intentional with everything that we do, so for instance, if the one opportunity you have to get close to Mother Nature is to go on a beautiful trip somewhere or spend the day in nature rather than just taking it as exercise or something that is healthy for you to destress and stuff like that, I want you to take it a little bit further, go up a notch with that and make a point to sit on the ground and be quiet in a quiet space. You can put your hands, your palms, on the ground, and then go within. Go into your heart and tune into the sounds of nature, the wind on your skin, your body, and then you're gonna start talking to Pachamama.
Talk to her. She's gonna listen and just say it out loud. It's even a good practice to do it out loud so that you can hear your own voice, and you can also make it more real for you. This connection that you can make with Pachamama needs to happen in your heart so if you're not connected in your heart, if you're not really in that space of love, if you’re a little too much in your head, that's not going to allow for the connection, so if you go and say, for instance, hands on the ground:
CONNECTING TO PACHAMAMA (MOTHER EARTH) WITH GRATITUDE:
[18:28] Q’orianka:
“Pachamama, thank you for this beautiful opportunity. Thank you for bringing me to this beautiful place. Thank you for the birds. Thank you for the fresh clean air. Thank you for giving me energy. Thank you for bringing peace to my heart. I am so happy to be here with you. Thank you for your presence in my life, for giving me energy, for carrying me through everything that has been tough this week. I am coming back to you soon, and I'll be here again, and we'll connect. We'll connect again. Remain with me. Give me strength. Thank you. Thank you, thank you.”
You can do that, and that can be quite powerful. The more you do it, the more you're going to get used to it. I mean, it depends on every person's experience of how you feel this connection with Mother Earth. For some people, it might be tougher to do something like this. You might feel a little crazy sitting there in the middle of nowhere and, you know, “what am I doing? I'm talking to myself? I'm going crazy, like this is a little strange. I feel weird about it.” Some people might feel that way, and that's okay.
That's a beginning, but if you start doing this practice, it's gonna become more natural for you. You're gonna drop into your heart at some point. It's gonna become easier, and you're gonna start building a relationship. For some people, it will be easier. Maybe this is something you already do. If you already do something like this or meditating in nature, make a point to meditate with that intention, to connect with the spirits of the place, with the trees, with the birds, with your Spirit Guides in nature.
PHYSICAL LOCATION & CONNECTION WITH MOTHER EARTH:
[20:14] Jen:
Yeah, so I wonder if you could draw from your own experience for us when you were told to come back to Peru did you feel a difference in your relationship and connection with Mother Earth when you were back, where your ancestors are from, or can you draw from that anywhere. If you're across the globe, can you draw that wisdom or draw that relationship?
I'm just curious because I know in my experience, and I know we were talking about this, when we travel to different places, the energy is different, right? I mean, if you look at any energetics of actual physical locations, there can also be like residual energy or like a residual from things that have happened there before, people that inhabit that space, so I'm wondering what that was like for you and your experience when you travel or when you were living in Canada versus actually living in Peru and now, having that connectedness with Mother Earth.
[21:31] Q’orianka:
Yeah, you see, that's something I never really thought too much about, so this is a really great question. I feel that this is a very personal experience for every human being. I can tell you about my own experience. Ultimately, I believe that it's about you and yourself and what is true in your heart for you.
For instance, for me coming first here to Peru to be in my very first Inca ceremony for my own healing… because I had done as much as I could to heal before that, believe me. I had invested in coaches, read the books, did meditation, I did prayer every day, I did all of those things that were very healthy for me, and definitely, those things helped me to get to a certain point, but my teachers knew, and I knew that there was a higher level of healing I needed to reach, to really be good, to really be strong, and that the way for me was coming back to my ancestral medicine in this land, in Cusco.
So once I did, when I participated in my very first ceremonies, I felt this huge difference in my relationship with Mother Earth. It was so miraculous really to me, that I had never felt bliss ever in my life or the kind of deep connection I felt in that first Inca ceremony. And so I was so blown away by this experience that I wanted more of it, I was changing.. I was like “Oh, how can I do this?” I started to ask questions, “can I learn how to do ceremonies?” I just wanted more of that great stuff.
Very quickly, I realized this is not just for you. It's not something for you to be happy. This is a path of service. I was being called to the spiritual path as a healer, but yes, it started with my own healing. Then, I went back to Canada, and yes, the medicine stayed with me, and the healing that I had received stayed with me and continued developing as time went by because that's the nature of medicine. You might feel the effect right away to a degree, some people more than others, but then, it's overtime that you start to see how this medicine is working in your life and in you. And of course, it also takes a dedicated effort and a desire to also nurture the seed that was planted in the healing ceremony, and the work stayed with me in Canada.
But there was something in me that told me, “yes, I really need to continue growing in this path” and it came down to me realizing that I couldn't continue growing in the spiritual path if I was far away from the sacred land of Cusco, if I was far away from my teachers. So, it became really funny. It was kind of ridiculous.
I was traveling three times a year, two times a year minimum from Canada to Peru, and you can imagine you can add it up, right? That's like a little fortune in traveling back and forth, international flights, and also doing all kinds of things to get time off from work. I got really resourceful. Can you imagine? Like, leaving work three times a year for about a month [at a time]? How could I get away with that? It was just miraculous, right? The Spirit Guides were helping me, of course, but it became so ridiculous that I had to realize that “oh, this is not gonna be sustainable for years to come. I need to do something different.“
Definitely, Pachamama, the energy of the city of Cusco, called me because this is the center of the Inca [Empire], my grandparent’s energy and the Spirit Guides. So I could do so much from far away, but I had to come and stay, and it totally felt for me personally the best decision ever. It was meant to be this way, so I have continued not only serving here but also strengthening my own practice and growth, and this is a lifelong commitment, right? That's why I live in Cusco because it's so tied in with my essence and my sacred life calling, everything, in every single way.
Now, what I have observed in my clients and people, the public in general is that again, it's so personal. Maybe for you, it's not something that is calling you, maybe the grandparents of this land are not calling you. Maybe some other ancestors from another land are calling you, and it might be of value for you to pay attention and listen to your heart and if you're feeling that there is something for you to receive in some faraway land whether it is Cusco, or somewhere else, that you listen to the calling and you're brave enough to take the leap and go. Do it if that's where there is some gift for you hidden.
Is there something for you to receive?
For other people, it might not be the case. That might not be part of your path of growth and healing or your path of connection to Mother Earth, it may be right where you are in your own home, in your own land, so it's really very very personal.
[27:02] Jen:
Yeah, I can definitely see that. Yeah, so just follow your heart calling for sure because I know for me this is something that I'm very much expanding on in my own life and exploring. I know that I have like bits of ancestors from here and some from here. I have so much in my bloodline that it's difficult to pinpoint, “where do I come from?” You know what I mean? So I'm still navigating that, and so for now, I'm just following the call. Just following that intuitive guidance.
MESSAGE FOR ALL OF US FROM MOTHER EARTH:
[27:45] Jen:
So I wonder when you are actually in communication, which I'm sure you are all the time, but when you're deliberately connecting with Mother Earth, has there been a message or something that she wants to communicate to humanity at this time? I'm wondering if anything is coming through that you'd like to share kind of like this calling? Like this invitation to humanity, and what does she really need from us right now? I wonder if anything was coming through that you'd like to share.
[28:26] Q’orianka:
Yes, okay, so I haven't received exact words for humanity that I can transmit, but I have in my heart a transmission of what she has told me, what she has shown me when it comes to our relationship. And to me, I think that it's really for everyone. It's not just for me but Pachamama, the Spirits of the Mountains and also the Spirits of the Plants, at different times what I have received from them is the message that we are so loved; we are so so loved and cared for and that there is so much joy for us to have in our lives; there is so much freedom to be experienced.
That is something that I have received in different ways time and time again, and I have also received messages of “you have the divine light, the divine essence in you,” not with those words, mind you. It's more of a feeling, of a visceral experience, that I have received for myself, but as I said I am not different than you, and I am not extra special. We are all one and we are human beings. We are equals, so whatever is for me, is for you.
So, there is only ONE to transmit that: You deserve freedom in your life. You deserve this beautiful life experience to be really expansive and really awesome because this is for you. The Spirits of the Plants have told me this time and time again, that it's for us to receive.
[30:14] Jen:
Yeah, beautiful, I agree, definitely when I connect maybe not specifically to Mother Earth but when I'm connecting to Life Force, it's always just like this love, just this wrapping in a warm blanket of love. And yeah, so I very much resonate with that.
A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM ME TO YOU:
[30:39] Jen: So is there anything else that you feel called to share? Anything else you want to add to the conversation before we begin wrapping up?
[30:49] Q’orianka:
Sure, I'd like to. Well, my final words would be that I want to invite you to continue growing in this beautiful connection with your own heart with your own self and with the Spirits of Nature, with Pachamama, with your Spirit Guides because that goes a long way.
We are not here to be in isolation. You were never meant to be born to be by yourself either to be happy by yourself or sad and miserable by yourself. You were born to be in community. And our community is not only human beings which for us is the easiest to be able to identify as our community. No! Our community is also in the spirit realm. It's also in other species, in Mother Earth. You have no idea how much happiness there is and how good this is for you, to engage with all of them, to not forget that they are there. They are there for you.
[31:55] Jen:
Yes, oh! that's so beautiful. I like it. I really feel that, so thank you, yeah! And you're absolutely right. It really resonates that community is not just another human being. Being this human family, but it's with nature, it's with the animals. We're not separate. We're not separate at all. Beautiful.
IF YOU HAVEN’T DONE IT YET, RECEIVE THE GIFT “RELEASE CEREMONY”:
[32:20] Jen:
So my love, where can we go and find you online and check out what you've got going on.
[32:31] Q’orianka:
Well, you can go to alturasspiritualjourneys.com. That's my website. I'm sure that you can find the link on Jen's page, on your website, and well, my gift to anyone who is listening at this moment is the Release Ceremony. I have this audio recording that has the energy of freedom.
It's something I created based on my experience doing Incan ceremonies of cleansing and the knowing of the Inca about needing always to be cleansing ourselves energetically when it comes to our emotional energy as well. It's good to be cleansing constantly and periodically doing this. It's very healthy for you, so the Release Ceremony is meant to help you release anything that you're ready and willing to let go of now. It can be something like maybe you are feeling sad because you had a discussion with someone or you are having a little too much stress lately, you want to let go of the stress and find an easy way to solve whatever you need to solve.
So it can be really anything whatever you are ready to let go and release. Any heavy energy and I think it doesn't take more than 30 minutes; even it's less. We'll do this together through the Release Ceremony that you can find as well in my website, alturasspiritualjourneys.com.
[34:03] Jen:
Perfect, I love that. So if you feel called to that, be sure to go check out her beautiful work.
MY PINKY PROMISE:
[34:09] Jen:
And my love, there is one final question: What is your Pinky Promise?
[34:18] Q’orianka:
I was looking forward to that question!
So my Pinky Promise is that I am promising to myself, to the Divine, and with all of you as my witnesses, that I am committed to continue growing and expanding my heart and being more the essence of love. My Pinky Promise is also to be brave and courageous in the path of the spiritual work that I do and serve with love always, always being understanding of our human experience and moving forward with as much love as there can possibly be in me.
[35:03] Jen:
I love your Pinky Promise. Awesome! Well, thank you again so much for joining this conversation and for bringing so much, so much heart and so much wisdom into this conversation. I'm really truly grateful for you and your work. So thank you again, love.
[35:27] Q’orianka: You're welcome; it was a pleasure. Thank you, Jen, thank you.
[35:31] Jen:
All right, my friends, so that was absolutely a stunning conversation. Be sure to go, check her out online, and I'll see you in the next video. Bye, everyone. Bye.
